Our Christmas annual bazaar was held on Sunday the 30th November 2008 in the usual venue in front of the yacht club in the old port. We couldn't have asked for a better day, the weather was beautifully warm and no wind !
The organization can sometimes be chaotic early on a Sunday morning especially if the weather is not on our side but thankfully it was. We also arranged to start a little later this year at 11am which gave us plenty of time to set up in an orderly way.
Stalls included, kids clothes and toys, clothes, shoes, household goods and appliances, books, food ( soup , hot dogs, baked pies and cakes, soft drinks, wine, beer and ouzo ) Very kindly donated from various shops and people were unused stock of Christmas decorations and household things. It's not all second hand stuff for those thinking we sell only used junk !!! there are many interesting things to peruse through.
Once again, Dimitris Varonos was a huge help by volunteering his help and the use of his van to load all the boxes and thank you to Sharon for providing the extra tables.
The highlight of the kids day was Santa driving around in his festively decorated trolley and allowing the kids a tour around the old port.
Special thanks to Babis the baker in Ornos for donating so many bread rolls ( he helps every year and we really appreciate his kindness) to Pandelis and Thanassi Stambolis for donating ALL the drinks, to Paniotis from the town hall for being Santa for the kids, to the Yacht club for once again the use of their tables, the Town hall and port police for access and cleaning up after the event, Hazel Fouski for providing the vegetarian soup, to everyone who baked a cake or pie for the bake sale, to all the volunteers who did a superb job working the stalls, to the individual stall holders and shops who came and supported the event, to Theohari Pharmacy, The Cutting Room hair salon, Vassilis winter La Casa, George X-treme, the Nail Spa, Palladium, Suisse cafe, Pet Stop, Alexis taverna for donating great prizes for the lottery. To Venus radio, Galaxia radio , Yannis Theodorou and other webpages who helped to promote the community event. And lastly but not least to the people of Mykonos who made the effort to come and support this fantastic day...
THANK YOU ! We raised 5,800 euro..well done everyone !
